Privacy Policy

Privacy, in plain language.

This policy applies to the public CredTrail website, docs, and public credential pages at credtrail.org. If an institution runs its own CredTrail deployment, that institution sets its own privacy policy.

What we collect

We collect information you send us directly, such as emails sent to hello@credtrail.org.

We also receive the basic request data needed to run and secure the site, such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, and routine server logs.

Public credential pages may include badge details, issuer details, public evidence links, and recipient display data when an issuing institution chooses to publish them.

What we do with it

We use that information to run the site, secure it, respond to support requests, and keep public credential pages working.

What we do not do

We never sell personal information.

We never rent personal information.

We do not use advertising networks.

We do not use third-party analytics.

Hosting

We host CredTrail on infrastructure we control. That infrastructure may run on Cloudflare, AWS, or DigitalOcean.

Those providers process data only to host, secure, and deliver the service for us.

Public badge pages

If a badge page is public, it is public on purpose. The issuing institution decides what badge and recipient information appears there.

If information on a public badge page should be changed or removed, contact the issuing institution first.

External links

If you click a link to another site, that site has its own privacy policy.
